Grand Teton National Park & Jackson Hole

240612 Sunday

This is going to be a super long post consisting of my trip to Grand Teton National Park and my two times down to Jackson Hole. Grand Teton is just to the south of Yellowstone and many people visit the two national parks together. It takes about an hour and half to drive from Old Faithful to Jenny Lake where we took a short boat ride to the trail head. Most people only hike up to Inspiration Point or Hidden Falls but I would recommend that you go early, bring enough water and food, and hike all the way up into Cacascade Canyon. It is less crowded the further you go, and you'll be in for a treat of wildlife, wildflowers and spectacular view of the canyon. We hiked almost 12 miles for 8 hours, stopping several times for wildlife sightings and breaks. I saw 2 mule deers, a hawk, 7 mooses and a black marmot (which was rare compared to the brown ones we always see). This is really one of the most rewarding hikes I've been on:) Anw one thing I've learnt here is to bring a binoculars. That way you can spot wildlife faraway, especially for bears which you'll never wanna get too close to!

A female moose crossing our path up close, what a rare sight!

Losta snow

Beautiful wildflowers

We wanted to hike all the way to Lake Solitude but there was too much snow and would slow us down such that we may not make it back in time for the boat ride. Hence we decided to eat lunch, take a group shot, and head back.

This moose was just sitting there, eating grass and chilling:P

After the long hike, we went down to Jackson Hole for dinner. Jackson Hole is one of my favourite towns and I was so glad to be able to come down a second time! We went back to Silver Dollar for our meal again, love the food there!

Silver Dollar was much more crowded this time round

My beef burger
Its size is not justified by the photo:P
