Yet another common off-day with all my Singapore friends!
Our destination:
This was a relatively easy 6 miles hike up & down 10,243 feet with breathtaking views along the way (well we didnt exactly start from the foot of the mountain:P). It was just a gradual slope all the way up with very wide pathways & we were hiking at "can walk&talk pace" so it was a relaxing and enjoyable hike! This trails also offers one of the best panoramic views of Yellowstone at the summit with a lovely display of wildflowers along the way! It's warming up and even Old Faithful has lotsa wildflowers around! Seeing these beautiful flowers always reminds me of God's providence and love :) We also sighted several marmots, a mountain sheep, and a small bear (on the road on our way back).
And I am always grateful for the good weather & blue skies so that I never have to edit my photos:D
see that pointy peak?
that's our destination. it always stays in sight but it was a long way before we got there:P
mike & han xu going off trail :P
always find it amazing how some people's jobs are to clear the snow up on the hiking trails. cool job huh!
spot the marmot!
i love how fat and furry marmots are yet they can still run really fast!
it's not v clear here but that's the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone in the distance that Han Xu's photographing!
Reaching the summit:
We were surprised to find out that a building exists on top of the mountain! No wonder our guide said we could have lunch at the top haha.
the building at the top
with employees residence?!
interior of the building with a telescope and signboards to tell you what you're seeing :) up here you can see the Tetons, Canyon area etc.
this is sooooo cool - carrying your baby up the mountain! scaling heights from young:P
到此一游 :D
the view from the lookout point which was wayyyy too windy to stay a moment longer
Group photo:D
I just realised: where are you mike?!! you are not the photographer this time!
haha mike i am going to forget you cos you're never in our group photos:P
We said to have a jump shot at every summit since the last hike to Bunsen Peak :D
Photo with the ranger :P
I suspect he's the one who lives up here!
Had a lovely walk back down, soaking in the cooling weather and gorgeous view:)
